Kitchen Trends That are Here to Stay 2021
What is that one thing that makes you nostalgic, brings back a flood of memories, makes festivals entertaining, brings family and friends together at dinners and most importantly warms your soul and fills your heart, for me it is food. Food is a language that is understandable around the globe, it binds us, distinguishes us and helps in bringing people together. Food is made in every home, every single day in one room called- kitchen area. Kitchen areas have been of prime importance for many home makers over the years as it brings comfort to mind and connecting with the area is pivotal. Some people like modern kitchens that have kitchen islands, some like conventional kitchens with big stoves, cabinets, kitchen rugs and closed doors. Whatever you choose, make sure you incorporate these trends that will make your kitchen sustainable and efficient for the upcoming years.
Whether you’re
concocting an update for your kitchen, starting it from scratch, chewing over
some DIY ideas or trying to reinvent this space in the home, you probably want
to know the best trends and ideas that are being made around us in the interior
designing world, right? Well, you have landed yourself at the right page, as we
are planning to provide you with a full guide from layout to finishing touches
which you can use to make your kitchen areas sustainable, trendy and
comforting. In this article, I have chalked down 5 trends that will be here to
stay for the years to come, so let’s get started.
1.
Dark
Finishes
It's finally time
to say goodbye to the neutral toned, white and bright kitchen areas and embrace
darker shades. This trend is the result of the love and acceptance given to
two-toned kitchens. People loved how interior designers brought hints of accent
colors like midnight greens, black, charcoal greys, earthy walnuts and deep
browns to the cabinets, backsplashes, countertops and storage racks. Now this
trend is taking more of a centre stage, by being more prominent and less
subtle. Dark colored cabinets, storage spaces, stove, ovens, countertops,
lighting fixtures, furniture, discount rugs and other things are
helping in creating an ambiance of luxury, sophistication and elegance.
2.
Open
Shelves at the Top
Open shelving is
not so much of a new concept but its relatively new trend when it comes to
upper cabinets. With the advent of the double island concept, the issue of
storage space has been sorted out very efficiently. The usage of upper cabinets
was mainly due to less storage space, but with that out of the way, it would be
more like a décor and less like a necessity. With the elimination of upper
cabinets, we now have the option to utilize that space in more fun, elegant and
charming ways. One of my favorite ways is open wooden shelving, it looks
beautiful, encourages decluttering and promotes functionality and looks
great.
3.
Sleek,
Seamless and Streamlined Finishes
People who love
contemporary décor style will love this kitchen trend as it promotes sleek,
streamlined and seamless cabinetry. No chunky hardware, no shaker cabinet, just
simple, fuss-free, design that looks uber chic, sophisticated and urbane.
Kitchen area is full of diversified products like tableware, crockery,
appliances, gadgets and cleaning stuff, but it is not necessary to show all
this. Keep the things discreet in the kitchen with wall-to-wall seamless
cabinets which offer clean lines and an effortless finish. It will also give
your kitchen a decluttered look, save your appliances from collecting dust on
them and also make your kitchen material shine.
4.
Rock
The Color Green
In the past
decade, the go-to color of interior designing has been jewel toned blue but
fixation with this color is taking a backseat and a new color is on the block.
Color green is the new favorite color, which looks amazing, goes with the
concept of dark finishing and also brings a very natural and earthy vibe. Green
tones like emerald, sage, army, forest, deep and jade when combined with
natural wood looks outclass. Adding kitchen rugs in green tone is
also a great way to reinforce the color. You can have hints of this color or
you can go all in with it but be sure to incorporate it as it’s here to stay!
5. Smart, stylish and Quirky
Faucets
Can You imagine a
kitchen without a faucet, no way! Faucets and sinks are absolute essentials of
the kitchen and it is high time we let them shine and take the front seat.
Think of introducing faucets with quirky designs or interesting materials.
Nowadays, the variety that is available for kitchen fixtures in unreal, these
are smart, sustainable, chic and eye-catching, so don’t miss out on this trend
as it can be done with remodeling as well as new kitchens.
Summary
Kitchens are the
most loved areas of the home; it brings us together and makes dwellers feel
like members. 2020 was all about self-care and 2021 is no different, so be sure
to pay attention to this part of the home and make it trendy for the years to
come with these ideas.
